D&A Lab presenting Jonathan Monk
D&A Lab (Design and Art Laboratory) confronts and incites artists to create works using new techniques, which unify the unique, rigid and non-functional aspect of art with the softness or hardness of the design object’s functionality. The tension between the two forms creates a palpable energy while maintaining a balance between art and design. It is up to the owner to decide how to define the object.
Well-known artists, as well as a number from the new generation, have been invited to co-operate with D&A Lab to create objects that hover on the border of the visual and applied arts and resist immediate classification.
